Colts teammates know WR Alec Pierce is doing everything he can to play

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is set to be placed on the injured reserve list after reaggravating a heel injury during Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The designation sidelines Pierce for at least four weeks. Head coach Shane Steichen previously confirmed that Pierce had met all rehabilitation benchmarks following March surgery to play in the season opener.

Pierce was playing on a limited snap count before exiting the game in the first quarter. Quarterback Daniel Jones and teammates Josh Downs, Cam Bynum, and Tyler Warren expressed support for Pierce's recovery. The Colts will look to receivers such as Downs and Darius Slayton to fill the downfield role during his absence.
