Raiders to table Hudson Young revised four-year, $4.4 million deal

Canberra Raiders officials plan to meet with forward Hudson Young next week to discuss a revised four-year contract extension worth $4.4 million. The club had previously offered a three-year deal worth $3.3 million but added a fourth year to keep him off the open market on November 1. If agreed, the permanent deal would run until the end of 2031.

Young had previously spoken with NRL newcomers the Chiefs, but their interest cooled over salary cap calculations regarding his market value. The Raiders are also locking down their roster, having agreed to a three-year extension with Matty Nicholson, while hooker Tom Starling is closing in on a move to Super League side St Helens.
