Raiders to table Hudson Young revised four-year, $4.4 million deal

Canberra Raiders officials plan to meet with Hudson Young next week to discuss a revised four-year contract extension worth $4.4 million. The updated offer adds a fourth year to their initial three-year proposal of $3.3 million, potentially securing the forward through the end of the 2031 season. Canberra is attempting to finalize the deal before Young becomes eligible to enter the open market on November 1.

Young had previously engaged in discussions regarding a potential move to the Chiefs, but interest subsided after salary cap valuation requirements were clarified. Young missed the conclusion of the NRL season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. Meanwhile, Canberra has secured Matty Nicholson on a three-year extension, while hooker Tom Starling is nearing a transfer to St Helens.
