The NFL has fined Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins for unsportsmanlike conduct following their Week 2 celebrations against the Houston Texans. Both players paid tribute to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson by performing the People's Elbow celebration after scoring. In total, Chase and Higgins were reportedly fined a combined $89,556 across six infractions, with Chase receiving two fines and Higgins receiving four.
Chase publicly expressed frustration with the league's disciplinary action, stating that the players were simply trying to have fun with unique touchdown celebrations. He confirmed plans to appeal the punishment and called on NFL superstars to collaborate with the NFLPA to push back against the league's fines.
