New Aberdeen CEO Adrian Bevington has urged supporters to avoid repeating pitch invasions or pyrotechnic displays after the club received SPFL sanctions. The governing body reduced Aberdeen's ticket allocation by 500 seats for their upcoming Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers at Hampden. The penalties followed incidents during a recent penalty shootout win at Kilmarnock.
Bevington, who replaced former chief executive Alan Burrows, confirmed the club was aware of the impending punishment and has addressed the matter internally. While acknowledging the sanctions, Bevington emphasized that the offenders represent a minority and expressed confidence in the wider fanbase ahead of the match.
