Aberdeen lose 500 semi-final tickets after pitch invasion

Aberdeen have had their ticket allocation reduced by 500 for the upcoming Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers at Hampden on October 31. The sanction from the SPFL follows a pitch invasion and the use of pyrotechnics by supporters at Rugby Park during the previous round against Kilmarnock. Aberdeen had initially secured approximately 17,000 tickets for the fixture and must now pay the cost of the lost seats.

Newly-installed chief executive Adrian Bevington noted that the vast majority of fans are well behaved, emphasizing the need to avoid risking further sanctions. A club statement also reminded supporters that pyrotechnics are illegal, noting that such behavior creates significant consequences and could lead to banning orders.
