Jalen Duren wouldn’t be the first player to call the Pistons’ bluff

Jalen Duren and the Detroit Pistons remain in a contract extension stalemate, with the All-NBA center threatening to take his $9.6 million qualifying offer to enter unrestricted free agency next summer. Detroit's latest offer is rumored to be around $200 million over five years, but negotiations have reportedly stalled over proposed weight-related contract clauses.

The Pistons previously lost lottery picks Greg Monroe in 2015 and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in 2017 following qualifying offer disputes under owner Tom Gores. Detroit also continues to carry dead money from former head coach Monty Williams' contract while risking losing the 22-year-old center.
