Zach Hyman opened the scoring for the Oilers on a first-period power play, redirecting a feed from Connor McDavid past Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf. Edmonton extended their lead in the second period with goals from McDavid and Ryan Shea.

Matt Coronato responded for Calgary by converting a pass from Matvei Gridin into an open net. Just over a minute later, Kasperi Kapanen restored Edmonton's three-goal cushion during 4-on-4 play, sealing the 4-1 victory for the Oilers.
