Bucs on Deck 2026 Pirates Player of the Year: Murf Gray

Third baseman Murf Gray was named the Bucs on Deck 2026 Pirates Player of the Year following his first professional baseball season. Drafted in 2025 by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Gray advanced through three minor league levels from Bradenton to Altoona, batting .305/.402/.567 with 32 home runs, 97 RBIs, and 100 runs scored.

Gray hit a home run in his debut game at every minor league stop, including his first professional contest against the Dunedin Blue Jays. He also became the first Pirates minor league player since Mason Martin to hit 30 home runs in a single season.
