The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have selected Cam Schlittler and Payton Tolle as starting pitchers for Game 1 of their best-of-three wild-card series. The matchup begins Tuesday night, marking a rematch between the rivals after Schlittler previously pitched the Yankees to victory in last year's wild-card series.
Schlittler enters as the AL Cy Young favorite after recording a 14-6 record with a 1.95 ERA and 239 strikeouts for manager Aaron Boone's club. Tolle, a rookie left-hander, recorded a 9-6 record with a 3.03 ERA and 171 strikeouts across the regular season for Boston.
