Michael Hussey’s future in doubt as CSK eyes new batting coach

Former Australian batter Michael Hussey is unlikely to return as Chennai Super Kings' batting coach for the 2027 Indian Premier League season, according to a report by Cricbuzz. New CSK head coach Zaheer Khan is currently restructuring the team's support staff and has reportedly shortlisted three to four candidates to replace Hussey in the coaching setup.

Hussey served as CSK's batting coach for nine seasons from 2018 to 2026, contributing to three IPL title victories in 2018, 2021, and 2023 under former head coach Stephen Fleming. While Hussey was previously considered for the head coaching vacancy, Zaheer is expected to finalize CSK's coaching staff decisions in the near future.
