Ravichandran Ashwin among three to have stands named after them at Chepauk

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association is planning to honor legendary cricketers S Venkataraghavan, Kris Srikkanth, and Ravichandran Ashwin by naming stands after them at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. According to reporting from an Indian Express journalist, the Chepauk venue intends to open the three stands with all three players in attendance together.

The tribute honors three different generations of Tamil Nadu and Indian cricket. Venkataraghavan took 156 Test wickets in 57 matches, while Srikkanth represented India in 43 Tests and 146 ODIs. The plan is reportedly expected to come into effect ahead of upcoming major tournament fixtures once it receives official approval.
