Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers stated he is open to re-signing with the club but plans to test free agency this offseason. Originally selected in the second round of the 2018 draft, the 29-year-old enters the open market regarded as the top available catcher. Despite missing two months due to a mid-May hamate fracture, Jeffers batted .256/.353/.461 with 14 home runs in 92 games in 2026.
The Twins must decide within five days of the World Series whether to issue Jeffers an estimated $23.1 million qualifying offer. Jeffers is considered a candidate for a multi-year deal exceeding $15 million annually. Should he leave in free agency, Minnesota is positioned to rely on Victor Caratini while top prospect Vahn Lackey continues his development.
