Official: Parma appoint Gilardino as head coach after dismissing Cuesta

Parma have officially appointed Alberto Gilardino as their new men's first-team head coach following the dismissal of Carlos Cuesta. The Serie A club confirmed on Tuesday that Gilardino signed a contract running through the end of the 2026-27 season, with an option for an additional year. Gilardino replaces Cuesta, whose departure was confirmed on Sunday after five league matches.

Cuesta was dismissed with Parma in 15th place following a disagreement over the club's sporting vision rather than early-season results. Gilardino, who left Pisa in February, will be joined by assistant Gaetano Caridi, first-team coach Francesco Valiani, fitness coach Antonio Bovenzi, and chief analyst Mirco Vecchi.
