ST. PETERSBURG -- There are few players in baseball as electrifying or entertaining as Rays third baseman Junior Caminero. He swings hard. He hits the ball hard. He hits the ball a lot. He plays hard. He plays a lot…

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero is aiming for postseason success following an MVP-caliber regular season in 2026. The 23-year-old started all 162 games at third base, hitting 42 home runs and driving in 101 runs. His strong campaign helped lead the Rays to an American League-best 98-64 record and the No. 1 seed entering the playoffs.
In a recent interview, Caminero reflected on his development, personal work ethic, and memorable moments from the season, including a walk-off home run against the Houston Astros that clinched Tampa Bay's playoff berth. As the Rays prepare for Game 1 of the ALDS on October 3, Caminero emphasized his mental preparation and determination to win a championship.
