After serving as a Kansas City Royals hitting coach for a majority of the past five seasons, Alec Zumwalt was removed from his post Tuesday but will remain in the organization, The Athletic reported.
The Kansas City Royals have removed Alec Zumwalt from his position as co-hitting coach, according to a report by The Athletic. Zumwalt, who has worked as a hitting coach for Kansas City for most of the past five seasons, will remain within the organization and is expected to return to his previous role as senior director of hitting performance.
Zumwalt originally joined the major league coaching staff in May 2022 to replace Terry Bradshaw. The Royals, who finished in last place in the American League Central, are reportedly planning to retain hitting coaches Connor Dawson and Marcus Thames on their staff.
