Gold against China! India’s women’s compound archers deliver Asian Games triumph

India defended their women's compound archery team title at the Asian Games on Wednesday, defeating China 238-234 in the gold medal match at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park. The Indian trio consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Prithika Pradeep matched South Korea's world record score en route to securing the gold medal, while China's Wunier, Yue Wang, and Fangyao Wei took silver.

To reach the final, India narrowly edged South Korea 234-233 in a tightly contested semifinal. The South Korean team went on to defeat Chinese Taipei to claim the bronze medal. The victory continues India's strong archery success, following their previous title win at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
