Guenther Steiner thinks Lawrence Stroll sees a Mercedes engine when he ‘wakes up at night’

Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner questioned the patience of Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll and driver Fernando Alonso regarding Honda's underperforming Formula 1 engine. Speaking on the Red Flags podcast, Steiner joked that Stroll likely dreams of their previous Mercedes engines at night and wondered how Alonso has remained diplomatic despite the power deficit.

Aston Martin suffered their fifth double DNF of the season at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Alonso struggled with straight-line speed. While Alonso confirmed he will drive alongside Lance Stroll in 2027 and gave Honda a second chance, Adrian Newey has been openly critical of Honda's previous personnel restructuring.
