Newcastle have received news of a second injured star in the space of a few hours

Newcastle United goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen has suffered an injury during training with the France Under-21 squad and has been sent for an MRI scan. The £25 million summer signing has been ruled out of upcoming matches against Luxembourg and Switzerland. He will return to Tyneside after previously missing three matches for the Magpies because of an ankle problem.
The setback leaves Nick Pope as Newcastle's primary backup behind starter Lukas Hornicek, who is currently away on international duty with Czechia. Jaouen's issue marks Newcastle's second international break concern in a single day, following midfielder Lewis Miley's withdrawal from the England Under-21 squad after sustaining a minor knock.
