Marc Marquez set the pace in the opening practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi ahead of his title rivals at Aprilia.

Marc Marquez set the fastest time in the opening practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi. The session began under difficult conditions due to earlier rain, creating a greasy surface that delayed competitive running for nearly 15 minutes. Marquez eventually topped the timesheets with a best lap of 1:44.073s.
Jorge Martin finished second, trailing Marquez by 0.099 seconds, while Marco Bezzecchi took third place. Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco completed the top five, while an early highside crash for Takaaki Nakagami prevented him from recording an official lap time.
