The Los Angeles Chargers definitely could have found a better use for Derius Davis' roster spot—but he's stuck for now as the offense continues to get thinner.

Bolt Beat's G.C. Bellchamber writes that Los Angeles Chargers receiver Derius Davis retains his roster spot primarily due to mounting injuries across the offense. Despite earning All-Pro honors as a returner during his rookie campaign, Davis has recorded zero receptions through three weeks and has experienced a diminished role on special teams.
Injuries to wide receivers KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Ladd McConkey, and Brenen Thompson have forced the Chargers to maintain Davis on the 53-man roster. Additionally, return partner Mitchell suffered a foot injury in practice, leaving the team without sufficient depth to part ways with Davis for the time being.
