Jacob Shaffelburg scored two first-half goals to lead Canada to a 2-0 friendly victory over Peru at Stade Saputo in Montreal on Saturday. Goalkeeper Owen Goodman kept a clean sheet in his senior international debut, helping Jesse Marsch's side secure back-to-back victories.
Shaffelburg opened the scoring in the 19th minute and added his second less than 15 minutes later, both assisted by crosses from Liam Millar. Marsch utilized wholesale substitutions after the hour mark, which included handing international debuts to Justin Smith and Luca Petrasso, as well as a 70th cap appearance for veteran midfielder Samuel Piette.
