Jacob Shaffelburg scored two first-half goals to lead Canada to a 2-0 victory against Peru in an international friendly at Stade Saputo in Montreal on Saturday. Goalkeeper Owen Goodman recorded a clean sheet in his senior international debut as Les Rouges earned back-to-back wins under manager Jesse Marsch.
Shaffelburg capitalized on crosses from Liam Millar in the 19th minute and later in the first half to secure the win. Marsch utilized an agreed 11-substitution allowance to rotate his squad, which featured international debuts for Richard Chukwu, Justin Smith, and Luca Petrasso, as well as an appearance for veteran midfielder Samuel Piette in front of a sellout crowd of 19,619.
