This was the scene in Dallas prior to the opening game of the season for both teams. The St. Louis Blues youngest defenseman, Adam Jiricek, finally made his NHL

St. Louis Blues head coach Jim Montgomery praised rookie defenseman Adam Jiricek following his NHL debut against Dallas. Jiricek, who made his debut ahead of schedule due to injuries, skated alongside Philip Broberg on the top defensive pairing, recording 16:35 of ice time, two shots on goal, and a goal that was disallowed for offside.
Montgomery highlighted Jiricek's poise, stating he looked like a three-year veteran on the ice. The 22-year-old enters an estimated eight-week audition while Logan Mailloux recovers from hand surgery, with writer Justin Bonhard noting that sustained strong play will be crucial for securing Jiricek's long-term roster spot.
