Ottawa Senators forward Dylan Cozens expressed his excitement about sharing the NHL spotlight with Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Gavin McKenna, a fellow native of Whitehorse, Yukon. Speaking ahead of the first Battle of Ontario of the 2026-27 season at Scotiabank Arena, Cozens praised McKenna's lifelong talent and success at every hockey level.
Cozens noted that he hopes their combined presence in the league inspires young athletes from smaller communities to believe they can achieve their dreams. Prior to McKenna's arrival, players from Whitehorse had combined for 452 NHL games, with Cozens accounting for 444 of them.
