St. Louis Blues defenseman Brandon Carlo could face disciplinary action from the NHL Department of Player Safety following an incident against the Dallas Stars. Hintz was able to return to the game and expressed relief that he avoided a serious injury, though Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen publicly criticized Carlo's action as a dirty hit.
