Sports Illustrated called out talented Giants draft pick for "Falling Short" early in season.

New York Giants rookie cornerback Colton Hood was named by Sports Illustrated's Justin Melo as an NFL rookie who is falling short of expectations early in the season. Forced into an immediate starting role due to a thin cornerback room, Hood has struggled through three games, allowing 12 receptions on 15 targets for 137 yards and three touchdowns without recording a pass breakup.
Opposing quarterbacks have registered an 80% completion rate and a 144.3 passer rating when targeting Hood, according to Pro Football Focus. Selected 37th overall in the second round of the NFL Draft, the former Tennessee standout signed a four-year, $12.8 million rookie contract after earlier college stints at Auburn and Colorado.
