Marnus Labuschagne has all but confirmed his place at No. 3 for the first Test against South Africa, hitting a century in Australia’s pre-series warm-up game.
Marnus Labuschagne scored 111 before retiring in Australia's pre-series warm-up match against a Cricket South Africa Invitational XI in Potchefstroom. The innings ended an 11-month century drought across all formats, effectively confirming his spot at No. 3 for the first Test in Durban. Australia posted 6/368 across 74 overs in the two-day match.
However, Fox Sports notes the achievement came in benign batting conditions against a weakened bowling attack far below Test standard. Meanwhile, Cameron Green remains in doubt for the series opener due to an abdominal injury, while Matt Renshaw made 32 after recovering from a wrist issue.
