Jan Paul van Hecke leaves Roberto De Zerbi with a new headache
Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Paul van Hecke has withdrawn from the Netherlands national squad after suffering an injury. The central defender, who joined Spurs from Brighton in a £52 million deal this summer, left a Netherlands training session after just seven minutes and has returned to his club for treatment.
Van Hecke was injured during a match against Serbia and will now miss upcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and Serbia. His departure adds to growing injury concerns for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, who is already without sidelined players Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, and Mykhailo Mudryk.
