Washington Capitals prospect Petr Sikora scored his first career AHL goal during the Hershey Bears' 3-2 victory against the Charlotte Checkers. The milestone occurred with 17 seconds left in the second period when Sikora blasted a one-timer past Checkers goaltender Tyler Muszelik following a setup pass from Andrew Cristall.
Cristall recorded two assists in the contest, while Hershey captain Louie Belpedio presented Sikora with the team's Player of the Game honors. Head coach Derek King praised the Czech centerman's skill and relentless work ethic following his strong North American rookie debut.
