The Boston Bruins have placed forward Michael Eyssimont on waivers with the intention of assigning him to the AHL's Providence Bruins. The move indicates that forward Matthew Poitras may return from injured reserve as early as tomorrow's game against Ottawa. Eyssimont, who carries an expiring $1.45 million cap hit, has not skated in the AHL since the 2022-23 season.
Eyssimont recorded 18 points across 56 games for Boston after joining on a two-year free-agent deal in 2025. With Tanner Jeannot, Mark Kastelic, and young prospects securing roster spots, Boston faced a forward logjam. If Eyssimont clears or is claimed, the Bruins will hold approximately $7.5 million in salary cap space.
