Andy Burnham reignites debate over Premier League governance, reiterating that Everton were not fairly treated during their PSR points deduction process.

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has reiterated his criticism of the Premier League's handling of Everton's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) case, insisting the club was not treated fairly. Burnham's comments follow the release of the independent commission's findings against Manchester City, revisiting Everton's previous penalties nearly three years after their initial sanction.
Everton were initially handed a ten-point deduction in November 2023, which was later reduced to six points on appeal, followed by a separate two-point penalty in April 2024. Burnham had previously challenged Premier League chair Alison Brittain over the sanction process and voiced concern over potential ownership fallout regarding Manchester City.
