At the midway point of training camp, just a couple months ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers appeared to have their deepest cornerback room in years. Fast forward to the beginning of October, and Jamel Dean is dealing with an ankle injury…

Beat writer Mark Kaboly argued that the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider shifting Jalen Ramsey back to boundary cornerback. Speaking on 93.7 The Fan, Kaboly highlighted that Ramsey remains the team's top defensive back amid inconsistency from rookie Daylen Everette and Asante Samuel Jr., along with Jamel Dean's ankle injury and Joey Porter Jr.'s prior trade.
However, writer Ross McCorkle notes significant drawbacks to the proposal. Ramsey is currently playing through a broken wrist and turns 32 this month. McCorkle explains that moving Ramsey away from the nickel spot would reduce his impact against the run and on blitzes while creating another void in the slot.
