The Story in 60 Seconds

People's Learning Trust has officially rebranded as the Everton Multi-Academy Trust (EMAT), marking a major expansion of the club's educational initiatives. The trust now oversees six schools, with former hospitality and broadcast areas in Goodison Park's Park End converted into permanent classrooms for Everton Football College. Georgia Gould MP, Minister of State for School Standards, visited the site on September 3 to observe the trust's educational work firsthand.

Goodison Park held its final men's Premier League fixture in May 2025 before Everton relocated to their new stadium. EMAT chief executive Steven Baker OBE highlighted the organization's growth from the single academy trust founded 14 years ago. The initiative continues to expand across the region, with Everton midfielder Merlin Rohl recently visiting Oldfield Primary School in Chester.
