Marcus Edwards bags delightful last-minute winner on international duty
Burnley winger Marcus Edwards scored a dramatic 94th-minute winner to secure a 2-1 victory for Cyprus against Latvia. The 27-year-old, who recently switched his international allegiance from England to Cyprus, curled a shot into the top corner in the Nations League fixture. The late goal moved Cyprus to second place in their group with seven points from four matches.
The international success follows an eventful start to the season for Edwards at Burnley. After being initially left out of the Clarets' 25-man Championship squad list by Nicky Hayen, the former Tottenham and Sporting player was reinstated and started Burnley's recent 1-1 draw against Derby County.
