All Blacks great Ma’a Nonu has challenged South Africa’s Investec Champions Cup representatives to embrace the opportunity to play against Europe’s best.

All Blacks legend Ma’a Nonu has urged South African clubs to take the Investec Champions Cup more seriously and compete fiercely against Europe's elite. Speaking at the tournament's South African launch in Sandton, Nonu stressed that participating should be treated as a privilege rather than just an added bonus. No South African side has reached the semi-finals since entering the competition in the 2022-23 season.
Nonu also praised the French Top 14 as the world's most competitive league and expects French clubs to remain dominant. The South African campaign begins on Saturday, October 17, with the Bulls hosting Stade Français, the Stormers facing Bristol Bears, and the Lions visiting La Rochelle.
