The Panthers will be without Aleksander Barkov for an extended period, but their all-time record and statistics without their captain may surprise you.

Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov has been placed on long-term injured reserve following a lower-body injury suffered against the San Jose Sharks, ruling him out until late November. Despite losing their star center, Ryan Gagne notes that the franchise holds a relatively resilient 102-105-17 all-time record across the 224 games Barkov has missed in his career.
While Florida remains near .500 without Barkov, the team has faced underlying struggles in his absence. Across those 224 games, the Panthers have accumulated a minus-99 goal differential, allowed 30 more special-teams goals than scored, and experienced a significant dip in faceoff success.
