It’s not the complete overhaul that occurred last October, but the Mets are again changing their coaching staff.

The New York Mets announced that major league hitting director Jeff Albert, quality assurance coach Danny Barnes, and batting practice pitcher Kevin Mahoney will not return next season. A club source indicated that no further staff changes are expected. Under Albert's watch this past season, the Mets finished 20th in Major League Baseball in scoring with 4.31 runs per game and 23rd with a .706 OPS.
Albert, Barnes, and Mahoney are permitted to explore opportunities with other franchises or potentially take different roles within the Mets organization. Hitting coach Troy Snitker and assistant hitting coach Rafael Fernandez will remain with the team, alongside bench coach Kai Correa, pitching coach Justin Willard, and the remainder of the major league coaching staff.
