Chicago Bulls forward Matas Buzelis spoke bluntly about the team's difficult situation last season, citing a lack of rhythm, uncertainty over playing time, and tactical confusion. Entering his third season, the 21-year-old emphasized that the team will now have more defined roles and increased structure under new head coach Tiago Splitter.
Buzelis averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks across 77 games last year, though Chicago won just 31 games and missed the playoffs. Alongside teammates Norman Powell, Josh Giddey, Nic Claxton, and Caleb Wilson, Buzelis hopes to snap the franchise's four-season playoff drought, beginning with preseason play against the Phoenix Suns.
