San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is reportedly refusing interviews with American media outlets, outside of 60 Minutes, to avoid distractions after a devastating NBA Finals loss. According to reporter Michael C. Wright on the Hoop Collective podcast, Wembanyama remains deeply affected by San Antonio's 4-1 series defeat against Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks.
Wembanyama finished third in MVP voting after averaging 23.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks last season. Following an agonizing collapse in the Finals, including surrendering a 29-point second-half lead in Game 4, Wembanyama is adopting a fully locked-in approach alongside roster additions like Tobias Harris.
