BCCI lauded outgoing chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar for three ICC trophies, two Asia Cups and back-to-back Asian Games gold.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has praised outgoing chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar as his tenure officially concluded. During his three-year stint after taking charge in July 2023, India secured the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups, the 2025 Champions Trophy, two Asia Cup titles, back-to-back Asian Games gold medals, and reached the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
Following the conclusion of his term, the BCCI invited applications for the vacant role after Agarkar reportedly decided against seeking an extension. Head coach Gautam Gambhir thanked Agarkar for prioritizing the team, while former cricketer R Ashwin defended his tenure despite tough decisions involving senior players.
