The Buffalo Bills have been far from perfect through the first quarter of the 2026 regular season schedule, and their position group grades show where improvement is needed.

Ralph Ventre of Buffalo Bills On SI evaluated the Buffalo Bills' position groups following their 3-1 start to the 2026 NFL regular season under head coach Joe Brady. While the team remains atop the AFC East despite a recent loss to the New England Patriots, Ventre highlighted significant defensive weaknesses alongside strong offensive backfield and special teams performances.
According to Ventre, the cornerbacks received the lowest mark with a D grade, while inside linebackers and safeties each earned a C-. In contrast, running backs, outside linebackers, and all special teams units received A grades, with quarterback Josh Allen graded at B+ after recent struggles.
