The Chargers will have to navigate yet another injury to their offensive line. Days after learning that left tackle Rashawn Slater will be shut down with a high ankle sprain, we’re now learning that right tackle Joe Alt is expected…
Los Angeles Chargers right tackle Joe Alt is expected to miss Week 5 due to a neck injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Alt sustained the injury during Sunday's loss against the Seahawks, which limited him to 26 offensive snaps. The offensive tackle continues to rehab the injury, and the team currently has no plans to place him on injured reserve.
Alt's absence adds to major offensive line issues for the Chargers, as left tackle Rashawn Slater is also sidelined with a high ankle sprain. Swing tackle Trey Pipkins was already placed on injured reserve last month with a knee issue, leaving the team to rely on rookies Travis Burke and Logan Taylor alongside veteran Trevor Penning.
