As India prepares to play the West Indies in Ranchi, former chief selector Ajit Agarkar's past role as a pitch expert at the venue has resurfaced following the end of his tenure. Agarkar previously conducted pitch analysis at the ground in 2023, but his three-year stint as chairman of the BCCI selection committee concluded on October 4 after he opted not to seek an extension.
Pragyan Ojha currently serves as interim chairman alongside selectors Shiv Sundar Das, Ajay Ratra, and RP Singh. The BCCI invited applications for the vacant role with an October 14 deadline, thanking Agarkar for a tenure highlighted by three ICC trophies and two Asia Cup titles.
