  • Simon Jordan also criticized Scholes, suggesting his podcast work had corrupted his usually balanced thinking.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes clashed publicly with former Arsenal defender Martin Keown after insisting Manchester City players should hand over their Premier League medals. The dispute follows City being found guilty by the Premier League of 114 out of 115 financial rule breaches between 2009 and 2018. When Keown suggested on talkSPORT that affected seasons should be declared void rather than reawarding medals, Scholes responded on Instagram by telling his former rival to "do one."

Keown and co-host Simon Jordan had criticized Scholes' demands, with Jordan claiming Scholes was making controversial remarks for his podcast. City, who insist they are innocent and are appealing the verdict, were accused of manipulating financial accounts by £900 million through sham agreements. Scholes, who missed out on the 2011-12 title to City, rejected suggestions to void past campaigns.
