Train services on Merseyrail's Hunts Cross line will be suspended for a month from this Sunday

Liverpool and Manchester City supporters attending Sunday's Premier League match at Anfield face significant travel disruption due to a four-week rail shutdown. Train services on Merseyrail's Hunts Cross line will be cancelled starting Sunday, October 11, running through Saturday, November 7, because of major engineering works. Services between Hunts Cross and Moorfields will be suspended entirely.
The disruption impacts Sandhills station, a primary transit hub for fans traveling to Anfield via walking routes or the Soccerbus. Rail replacement buses will serve affected stations, though none will operate from Liverpool Central. Passengers traveling from the city center are advised to use Moorfields to catch replacement buses to Sandhills.
