Matthias Jaissle is relishing the return of Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton for Monday night’s Premier League clash with Coventry City
Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has confirmed that midfielder Joelinton is progressing well and expected to return for Monday's Premier League match against Coventry City. The 30-year-old Brazilian resumed full training after missing the entire season so far with a muscle injury. Nico Gonzalez and Dan Burn are also likely to return to the squad.
Meanwhile, second-choice goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen faces up to two months out after suffering a hamstring injury with France Under-21s. Consequently, Nick Pope is expected to re-enter the matchday squad as backup to starting goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek, with Jaissle praising Pope's professionalism.
