The new NHL season is only a week old. But even though the trade deadline is still months away, rumors about the Boston Bruins are already circulating.
The Boston Bruins are reportedly among at least 10 NHL teams interested in trading for Detroit Red Wings defenseman Simon Edvinsson, according to Pierre LeBrun. The 23-year-old restricted free agent has yet to play this season as he seeks a new contract, though Detroit interim general manager Shawn Horcoff reportedly prefers to re-sign him.
Inside The Rink argues that Edvinsson's youth and puck-moving ability make him an ideal defensive partner for Charlie McAvoy. The report also notes that Boston previously offered forward Pavel Zacha to the Columbus Blue Jackets in an unsuccessful trade attempt for Kirill Marchenko.
