Former San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey powered the Cleveland Guardians to a 9-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox in Game 4 of the ALDS. Bailey entered as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning, hitting a solo home run before delivering a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth to force a decisive Game 5.
Bailey was acquired by Cleveland on May 9 in exchange for left-handed pitching prospect Matt Wilkinson and the No. 29 draft pick. After batting just .146 in 30 games with San Francisco earlier in the season, Bailey rebounded to post nine home runs and 32 RBIs across 82 games with the Guardians.
