Lewis Ferguson has refused to rule out Scotland finishing runners-up in their Nations League section and boosting their Euro 2028 qualification hopes.
Lewis Ferguson has called on Scotland to trust the process under manager Sebastien Pocognoli, insisting the team can still secure a top-two finish in their Nations League group and earn a Pot 2 seeding for the Euro 2028 qualifying draw. The Bologna midfielder's comments followed a 2-1 defeat to Slovenia at Hampden on Tuesday, which left Scotland three points adrift of their opponents in Group B1.
Despite fan backlash against Pocognoli's 3-4-2-1 formation, Ferguson defended the new tactical setup and dismissed fatigue as an excuse. Scotland must defeat North Macedonia at home and Switzerland away in their final fixtures, while hoping Slovenia drop points, to achieve their target.
